Creating New Pages in SE v. 3.18->

This tutorial shows you how to add a new page to your SE.


1. Create a new .php file with a unique name, for example "newpage.php". (use Notepad2 and paste in it code below)

include "footer.php";

2. Create a new .tpl file with the same name, for example "newpage.tpl".

Code:

{include file='header.tpl'}
 
CONTENT OF YOUR PAGE GOES HERE
 
{include file='footer.tpl'}

3. Replace "CONTENT OF YOUR PAGE GOES HERE" with the HTML you want to be showed on your new page.

4. Upload the php file to your main installation directory, and the tpl to .. /templates

5. If you want to add a link to this page on your main menu, you will have to edit ../templates/header.tpl




NOTICE:
If you would like your page to be visible only to members who are logged in,
simply add prefix "user_" to the name of the file. For example, "user_newpage.php" and "user_newpage.tpl".
